Hello everyone! Since I haven't done any good old fashioned beauty posts in quite some time, for this weeks blog post I thought I would go back to basics...
Although I am obsessed with this time of year, I know many are not. The reason why? The sun has gone and the tans are fading. This has never really affected me, as I naturally don't tan. Seriously, I could move to Egypt for a year and probably come back a shade paler. Other methods of getting the tanned look never really worked out for me. Self-tanners that I had previously tried had either streaked or faded after a single day and going for a spray tan was expensive, not to mention a little scary. The idea of having a traffic cone orange complexion like Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars never really appealed to me.
However, a few months or so back my sister introduced me to the brand Skinny Tan, more specifically the self tanner Mousse and I have fallen completely head over heals for it!
The Skinny Tan Mousse is an extremely easy, affordable,
self-tanner made from certified natural tanning agents, alongside Aloe Vera (to
help moisturise) and organic coconut (a delicious scent to replace the not so
nice fake tan smell).
On an evening, using an application mitt I apply a little
of the mousse at a time in circular motions (I’ve found this way of applying
streaks less and blends more evenly all over my skin). There is a slight tint when
you first apply the tan so it is really easy to see where you might have missed.
The mousse itself dries almost instantly and doesn’t feel at all sticky so that
you are able to get fully dressed within minutes, although I usually stick with
loose fitted clothing.
The next morning I know I will always wake up to a streak free, natural (not at
all traffic cone orange looking) tan that smells amazing and can last up to
fourteen days!
(When going on a night out, a great combo I’ve found that
really compliments Skinny Tan is Zoella’s Body Fondant Shimmer Balm from the
Sweet Inspirations range. This macaroon scented body shimmer not only
acts as a solid perfume (and smells AMAZING) but also gives you a natural, all
over glow/sheen to your skin that makes you look healthy!)
Above is a photo of my skin 24 hours after first applying
Skinny Tan. As you can see, there is a big difference. However, this is not only in appearance
but also in confidence. There’s that saying, “If you look good, you feel
good, and if you feel good, you do good.” It's almost like when you get a new haircut or know you've aced that winged eyeliner. Skinny Tan has that similar effect on me. I feel much more confident and happy in myself, especially in wearing items of clothing that perhaps show off that little more skin than I normally would do. This newfound confidence boost simply comes from looking healthy, ergo, feeling healthy!
If you want to change your product/method for self-tanning or perhaps even want to try fake tan for the first time I would highly recommend Skinny Tan. Alongside being a tan that actually does what was promised, Skinny Tan doesn't test on animals and doesn't contain any harsh chemical that are bad for you skin. I will leave a link to the Skinny Tan website here if you to have a look.
I hope you enjoyed this week's blog post and I'll see you again soon!
That body fondant sounds lie an interesting product!
